Whether you're a seasoned competitor or tackling your first obstacle, this event is about grit, unity, and pushing limits.

Operation Freedom OCR proudly supports Beyond Trafficking, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking and restoring freedom to survivors. Beyond Trafficking works to raise awareness, support prevention efforts, and provide critical resources that help individuals break free from exploitation and rebuild their lives. Every obstacle you conquer represents something greater — standing up for freedom, dignity, and hope in our own backyard and beyond.

Volunteer at Operation Freedom OCR

Operation Freedom OCR is powered by people who believe in something bigger than race day — and that could be you. We’re inviting individuals, families, teams, and organizations to step into a meaningful role and help bring Abilene’s homegrown obstacle course race to life. From building and breaking down obstacles, to guiding runners on the course, handing out water, assisting with registration, and keeping the energy high — every role plays a critical part in the mission.

Volunteers who help with event setup and teardown will earn a free race entry into our exclusive “Vanguard Heat” — a special volunteer-only wave reserved for those who helped build the course from the ground up. You won’t just run the race… you’ll run what you helped create.

We also offer day-of volunteer opportunities, and those who serve during race operations will have the opportunity to participate in the “Freedom Force Wave,” a dedicated volunteer run that celebrates the team who kept the event moving.
